Morgan back on sideline duty for Limerick clash

May 18, 2007

Cork manager Billy Morgan
Cork football boss Billy Morgan will be free to patrol the sideline in Sunday's Munster SFC opener against Limerick after serving a two-month ban. The former All-Ireland winning manager and captain was hit with the ban on March 8 after a hearing at Croke Park to answer a charge of verbally abusing a referee during Cork's NFL game against Donegal in February. It was his second time to come before the GAA authorities to answer such charges, having been also banned for last year's All-Ireland semi-final against Kerry. It has emerged that Morgan was prevented from conducting Cork training sessions by his own county board during his latest suspension. Technically, a manager is not allowed to take training while banned from the Association and the Cork board was clearly mindful of this.
