Cork county board chairman Ger Lane has clarified the issue relating to senior inter-county expenses in the Rebel County.

It was reported that the county's senior footballers hadn't been paid the expenses they filed at the beginning of the month, while there was also understood to be an issue with the county senior hurlers' expenses.

However, speaking to the Irish Examiner, Mr Lane stated that the latter issue had been settled and that they are currently in process of working out the former.

"As far as I'm aware, all of the hurlers have been paid their expenses," he said. "The footballers' expenses for the championship were received by us on September 3 and came through the captain of the team (Paul Kerrigan). They wouldn't have been paid as of yet and are in the process of being reviewed.

"In relation to the National League, there is one footballers' expenses query, which has not been paid. That requires a meeting with team management, which has not yet taken place."

2015 saw Cork spend €1,422,670 on its inter-county teams, which was a €50,000 rise from the previous year's figure.
