Cork's Coughlan on comeback trail

Cork's Jamie Coughlan
Cork hurler Jamie Coughlan is ready to return to full training.

The 21-year-old attacker sat out the entire national league campaign after undergoing hip surgery in February but the Newtownshandrum clubman's rehabilitation programme has gone smoothly and he is on course to play in the Munster SHC semi-final against either Clare or Waterford on June 23rd.

Coughlan has worked closely with Cork physio Declan O'Sullivan and is expected to return to full county training in a matter of days.

He won't feature against Tipperary in Sunday's SH challenge at Cloughduv but selector Seanie McGrath has confirmed in today's Irish Examiner that Coughlan is approaching the end of his road to recovery:

"Jamie has done his rehab very well and it's great to see him back. He's already back in with the squad, working with Deccie in the corner, twisting and turning. It's fantastic to see him back."
