Galway are dangerous opposition, says Cleary

Cork manager John Cleary is predicting a "ding-dong" battle with Galway in Saturday week's All-Ireland U21FC final.

Victories over Cavan and Kildare respectively in Tullamore last Saturday paved the way for the Cork-Galway decider, and Cleary admitted to the Southern Star that he's concerned about the Tribesmen's growing momentum.

"I think we have played them every year in a challenge game, so they know what to expect from us and we know what to expect from them. They are very good footballers. They looked very impressive against Kildare from what I saw," the former Cork forward said.

"Any year that Galway come out of Connacht, they seem to improve immensely. That's the same situation this year.

"We really have to be at our best to get over the line. At the moment, themselves and ourselves are the two best teams in Ireland, and it's going to be a ding-dong battle up and down the football field, and I just hope we have more than them on the day."
