Cork under-21 manager John Cleary admits he was relieved to hear the final whistle in Saturday's penultimate championship clash against Cavan.
The Ulster champions had the opportunity to draw level right at the death, but unfortunately for Enda O'Reilly, his free drifted wide of the post.
This was much to the relief of everyone in Red and Cleary admitted to the Anglo-Celt that his charges never looked comfortable.
"I never thought we were in real control. We were six points up but they were breakaway scores when we broke from deep and they took on their men and got their scores," said Cleary.
"We lost our way, lost our momentum when they got the goal, that really gave them the platform and we were in a small bit of trouble.
"It came down to the last kick and fair play to the young fella, he came on and stood up and it barely went wide. On another day it would have been over the bar and we would be in for a bit of extra time."
