The bank Holiday weekend saw many sporting events take place, one such occasion was the Bandon Blitz in Co Cork.

Parnell's Under 13s reached the blitz final and played the Hosst team Bandon. Both sides served up a very entertaining game with excellent football played by both teams. Parnell's started well with both their midfielders Darragh Curran and JP Roche having the slight upper hand over their counterparts with Roche finding his range with two well taking points. Parnell's were moving the ball well with some exquisite passing and link up play. This soon paid dividends and following a good passing move the ball was laid into Mary Ann Murphy who coolly finished to the back of the net. Parnell's were now rampant with further two points from Adam McCarthy and a point from JP Roche and Shauna Munnelly. Although all the scores registered at this stage had come from Parnell's, Bandon were still fiercely competitive and were awarded for their efforts before half time with a well taken point. The second half started well for Parnell's and following a good passing move from Roche had the score at 1-7 to 0-1 with 10 minutes to go. Bandon were now in the ascendency and putting fierce pressure on the Parnell's defence, they were rewarded with a well taken fisted goal. Travelling in packs and hungry for more scores Bandon soon had the ball in the back of Parnell's net again. With time running out Bandon were on top and were unlucky not to register further scores.Parnells broke and passed the ball into Shauna Munnelly who scored Parnell's second goal to make it 2:07 to 2:01.

However time was up and Parnell's had recorded a great win over a very gallant Bandon side in what was a very entertaining game with whole hearted effort from all the players involved.

Bank Holiday monday also saw the under 8s and 10s compete in the TCG blitz in Greenford, despite adverse weather conditions the blitz took place with many teams from London represented. A big thankyou to TCG for their hospitality.
