Munster MHC: Banner remain on course

May 11, 2012
Clare have kept their three-in-a-row hopes intact by beating Cork.

The Banner County eased to a 0-18 to 1-9 play-off victory over the Rebels at Ennis on Thursday night to advance to a June 29th semi-final meeting with Limerick.

The defending champions were beaten in the first round by Waterford but bounced back in style last night, slotting over nine consecutive points in the third quarter after the sides had turned around sharing 14 points.

Corner forward Bobby Duggan from Clarecastle scored ten times for the winners - including the first eight points of the second half. Clare had conceded the first four points of the match but were a different team after the restart as Pa O'Callaghan's 55th minute goal was the Rebels' only second-half score from play.
