Munster MHC: Cork hit Kingdom for six

May 06, 2012
Cork 6-22
Kerry 1-4

Cork got their Munster MHC campaign back on track with this facile losers' group first round victory over Kerry at Austin Stack Park, Tralee last night.

Pipped by Limerick in midweek, the Rebels were already out of sight by half-time when leading 2-11 to 0-2. The goals were scored by Anthony Spillane and Mikey Cahalane.

It continued to be one-way traffic in the second half with Spillane going on to complete his hat-trick and Pa O'Callaghan helping himself to 0-9. Pat Kenneally's charges will now play the other first round losers, Clare, on Thursday night in Ennis for a place in the Munster semi-final.

The result completed a bad day for Kerry as their senior hurlers also fell to a surprise Christy Ring Cup defeat to Wicklow in Arklow.
