Cork's Ciaran Sheehan
Cork football has received another boost with the news that Ciaran Sheehan played his first game since rupturing his cruciate ligament in last summer's Munster final over the weekend.
The 21-year-old forward, who was a target for Aussie Rules clubs a couple of years ago, lined out for his club Eire Og in a Cork Division 3 league clash against Castletownbere on Saturday night. He scored 0-2 and came through the game suffering no ill-effects.
His return to fitness comes on the same weekend as Cork captured the Allianz Football League title for the third year on the trot.
