Pat Gilroy believes Mayo have a great chance against Cork in Sunday's Division One final.
The Dubs boss witnessed first hand how devastating the Connacht champions can be on their day when they trounced the All-Ireland holders in Castlebar earlier this year and he reckons James Horan's men can put it up to the Rebels in a tight league decider at Croker this weekend:
"Mayo are one of the best teams we play every year. Apart from this year, it's always been one of the closest games that we play," Gilroy says in The Irish Sun.
"They are a really hard team to play against and they are starting to get some serious consistency.
"They were very good that night against us and the win over Kerry proves they are a good team. We aided them in Castlebar because it was our poorest performance in a long while.
"But, if they keep on improving, it will be tight in the league final because Cork are in very good shape. But Mayo have the confidence, having beaten Cork in championship last year, and it is very difficult to call."
