Cork's Ben O'Connor takes a breather
Newtownshandrum's county players will return to intercounty action next Tuesday.

The contingent - including Ben and Jerry O'Connor as well as Cathal Naughton - are currently on a two-week break following the All-Ireland club semi-final defeat to Ballyhale Shamrocks on February 14 but have been called up by Denis Walsh for a challenge game against Clare next Tuesday night in Fermoy.

This means they could feature in the Rebels' Division One clash with Kilkenny in two weeks' time, having missed the first two rounds of the league.

According to Ben O'Connor: "I am starting back Tuesday night. I was talking to Denis last Saturday and they said they would give us this weekend off and then start back Tuesday night.

"It is the turning on of the lights in the Fermoy club, which was called off a few weeks ago against Clare. That will be our first time back in a match situation.

"That will lead us up into the league match with Kilkenny, so we'll be back into action from then on."
