Cork manager Gerald McCarthy
Rumours are rife in Cork that Gerald McCarthy may not seek another term as senior hurling manager.
McCarthy's two-year term officially ended with the All-Ireland semi-final defeat to Kilkenny in August. Since then, the Cork board haven't looked at the issue of reappointing managers but with the county final out of the way, they are ready to address it now.
It is believed that most of the board's executive is in favour of McCarthy remaining at the helm, but there is strong speculation that he will not go again after failing to win silverware in his two years in charge.
