Cork SFC: Nemo book final spot
September 15, 2008
Nemo Rangers moved within 60 minutes of completing a four-in-a-row of Cork SFC successes following their 2-10 to 1-8 victory over Duhallow at Pairc Ui Rinn on Saturday night.
Rising star Barry O'Driscoll was the Nemo hero, finishing with a personal tally of 2-2. His goals came in either half, while James Masters also made a telling contribution by scoring 0-5.
Despite not being at their best in the first half, Nemo went into the break leading 1-6 to 1-4. Duhallow remained in the hunt until the 43rd minute when Alan Cronin set up O'Driscoll for his second goal, and there was no way back for the underdogs after that.
Nemo will face either their neighbours Douglas or Ilen Rovers in the county final after they drew 0-12 each in the other semi-final. Douglas looked to have the game sewn up when they led by three points with only minutes remaining, but late scores from Kevin O'Sullivan (two) and Brian O'Sullivan ensured that the West Cork side lived to fight another day.
