The O'Donovan Rossa minor footballers continued their intense preparations for their forthcoming minor championship clash against Carbery Rangers with a facile league victory over Ah·n Gaels, played in the Rossa Park last Sunday evening.
Skibb emerged comprehensive victors over a depleted Ah·n Gaels outfit who were missing four key players due to prior commitments. Skibb have one remaining game left against Newcestown in their league campaign. The minor footballers have won four games, with one heavy loss againt Clonakilty their only defeat thus far this season.

The minor quarter-final championship clash against Carbery Rangers has been fixed for this Friday evening, September 12, at 6.15pm in the Blackfield, Union Hall. The junior 2 second round hurling clash against Clonakilty which fell victim to the inclement weather last Friday night in Charlie Hurley Park, Bandon forcing its postponement has been rescheduled for this Saturday, September 13, at 6.30pm, with the venue still to be confirmed. If the hurlers are successful against Clonakilty, they proceed to a third round encounter with St. Colum's on Sunday, September 14, at 11.30am in Newcestown.
The senior footballers have been forced to withdraw their participation from the 2008 O'Neills Kilmacud Crokes All-Ireland Football seven-a-side tournament scheduled to take place on Saturday, Saturday 20, due to the progress of the junior hurlers. The junior 2 footballers tie against Newcestown in the first round of the junior B championship has been tentatively scheduled for the first week in October.
There was no winner of the lotto draw which took place in the Paragon Bar last Monday night for e3,000. The numbers drawn were 2, 6, 8 and 17. The consolation prize winner was Finbarr and Helen O'Driscoll. Next week's lotto draw will be held in Kearney's Well and will have a jackpot of e3,250.
