Ó'Sé and O'Connor allowed train
August 28, 2008
The GAA have confirmed to both Kerry and Cork that Darragh Ó'Sé and Donncha O'Connor will be allowed to train with their sides despite their current suspensions ruling them out of games for four weeks.
Confusion arose earlier in the month over whether or not Paul Galvin's suspension would allow the Kerry captain to train for the All-Ireland final were Kerry to get there, but it was later confirmed that Rule 149 (d) of the Official Guide suspended Galvin from "all functions, privileges and competitions under the Association's control, but not from membership of the Association."
However, as Ó'Sé and O'Connor have only be adjudged to have committed Category two offences (Galvin's offence came under Category four) they are permitted to join up with their respective squads training sessions.
While Ó'Sé has not appealed against his ban, as he is still in with a chance of playing in the All-Ireland final if Kerry win Sunday, O'Connor is still awaiting a decision from the Central Hearings Committee (CHC) as to whether or not he will be allowed play this Sunday against the Kingdom, after appealing his ban last night.
