Kenny boost for Cork

Cork's Tom Kenny
Suspended Cork hurler Tom Kenny has been afforded some solace with the news that he will be eligible to play for Cork in the Rebel County's first game of next year's championship. Kenny received a four week ban this week following an incident involving Kilkenny's captain James 'Cha' Fitzpatrick at the end of their teams' All-Ireland SHC semi-final. However it has emerged that Kenny's suspension runs four weeks from the day of the game and has no bearing on his participation in the 2009 intercounty championship. The player's participation in club games in Cork is not effected either by the ban, leaving him able to line out for Grenagh.
