Former Clare All Star Tony Griffin has hailed Donal Og Cusack's appointment in the Banner County.
Clare county board recently ratified the three-time All-Ireland winning goalkeeper as a selector to manager Davy Fitzgerald and Griffin believes that the pair working together can only mean good things for Clare hurling.
Speaking in the Irish Daily Star, Griffin said: You could see they had fallen behind and who better to breathe some maverick energy into them and endeavour than Donal Og?"
"That's what it requires. I was talking to Tony Kelly at the All Stars and he's excited. As a bunch of players, it's a really good way to start the year.
"Davy's a smart guy and he knows when something is required.
"Donal Og won't be anybody's yes man and it's going to lead to a head-to-head but they'll both want to get the job done."
