Colm Collins accepts that Clare needed to be more clinical to trouble Cork yesterday.

Speaking to the Irish Daily Mirror after his understrength side's 1-8 to 1-20 defeat at Pairc Ui Rinn, the Banner boss noted: "The only area where there's a glaring difference between the two teams was shooting efficiency. At one stage, theirs was up at 70 per cent, while ours was at 20 per cent.

"That's not the final tally, but that's a big difference, end of story. You have to put your chances away against the Division 1 teams."

He added: "They (Cork) put on a fine display of free-taking, of taking the right options, finding the right man and putting the ball over the bar.

"That was the difference between the two teams - our option-taking was sometimes poor and our execution was also poor enough at times."
