Clare SFC: double-seeking Cratloe to defend title against Eire Og

September 29, 2014

Cratloe chairman Jack Chaplin hands over the Jack Daly cup to captain Martin Martin Murphy.

Cratloe are just two games away from completing an historic Clare SHC and SFC double after their footballers overcame Cooraclare 0-12 to 0-8 in yesterday's semi-final at Cusack Park.
Colm Collins' holders led by 0-8 to 0-5 at the break thanks to some excellent score-taking by Podge and Sean Collins, Conor McGrath and Cathal McInerney. Rory Donnelly got the first score of the second half for Cooraclare, but the West Clare side couldn't get any closer as Cratloe qualified for their second county final.

The club, which is situated on the outskirts of Limerick city, will meet Crusheen in the Canon Hamilton Cup decider next Sunday before switching their focus to the Jack Daly Cup final against Eire Og the following Sunday.

The Ennis outfit booked their place in the final on Saturday with a 0-14 to 1-7 victory over Kilmihil. It will be their first final appearance in seven years, with their last success coming in 2006.
