Sixmilebridge manager Brian Culbert believes that the best team won the Clare under-21 A hurling championship final.

Culbert saw his side defeat Ballyea by 1-14 to 0-11 to claim their fifteenth county title at this level and the manager stressed to the Clare Championship that it was a very competitive grade.

"It is pure knock-out and the best team always wins this championship. It's so tense and everyone puts so much into it," stated a jubilant Culbert.

"It was nip and tuck the whole way, point for point. We said it halfway through the second half that whoever got a goal would win the game. It was so tight.

"The teams were so evenly matched that it was always going to a break to decide the outcome." Tweet
