Kelly keen to make amends

Clare defender Gordon Kelly admits losing out on promotion on the last day of the campaign three times, is driving them on this year.

In 2010, 2012 and 2013, Clare missed out on promotion to Division Three on the last day of the campaign and failure to beat Antrim on Sunday could see their fate end in a similar fashion.

However, Kelly is focused on the task in hand and he told the Clare Champion that they are determined to get the job done this time around.

"That's in the past," Kelly said of their previous campaigns. "This weekend is all that matters. What happened in the past won't have any bearing. It's a fresh slate and a different challenge."

Clare have impressed during this league campaign and a win over Antrim will guarantee them promotion, but a defeat and a win for Wicklow will see the Garden County leap frog them.
