Fennessy wary of Decies
April 04, 2014
Clare minor hurling manager Eamonn Fennessy admits that his charges face a tough test against defending All-Ireland champions Waterford in the opening round of the Munster MHC.
The sides meet at Cusack Park next Wednesday evening in a repeat of last year when Waterford came out on top on that occasion.
The Decies can still call on ten of the squad that won the All-Ireland title last September and Fennessy told the Clare Champion that his side will have to be at their best, if they are to pull off a win.
"This is a huge task for Clare, the biggest we have faced at this stage in the minor championship for some time," said Fennessy.
"We have only a couple of last year's panel available. Waterford are the defending champions with a good sprinkling of the All-Ireland winning team. In addition, they won the All-Ireland under-16 title two years ago."
