Clare hurling manager Ger 'Sparrow' O'Loughlin stresses that the Banner will not be taking Carlow for granted when the sides meet in the last round of the Allianz NHL division 2 on Sunday.
Following Clare's surprise defeat to Laois last time out, the Banner must defeat Carlow to reach the division 2 final or face the prospect of another term in the second tier.
They still have the 'small' problem of defeating Limerick in the final, but O'Loughlin is not looking beyond the Carlow game.
"We have to make sure we are tuned in and hit the ground running so that we can do ourselves justice on the day," said O'Loughlin. "We can't underestimate Carlow. They have made good strides in the last two years."
Clare have a number of injury concerns ahead of the Carlow match as Colin Ryan, Domhnal O'Donovan and Brendan Bugler have all been struggling of late, but are expected to available for selection on Sunday.
