August 26, 2010
Sixmilebridge qualified for the quarter-finals of the senior hurling championship thanks to a 2-15 to 2-8 victory over Inagh-Kilnamona in group 2. The Bridge were always in control and led 1-9 to 0-5 at half time with Niall Gilligan getting his sides goal. Gilligan and company increased their lead in the second half with Caimin Morey netting the winners' second goal on the resumption. Inagh-Kilnamona had their goals courtesy of Eoin Vaughan and Niall Arthur on a day when thanks to Sixmilebridge winning both the 'Bridge and Cratloe advance to the last eight.

Elsewhere in group 3 Newmarket-on-Fergus kept up their 100% record when they saw off the challenge of Tulla by 1-14 to 0-15. Despite being without the services of injured trio James McInerney, Martin O'Hanlon and Shane O'Brien Senior along with Bernard Gaffney only seeing action in the closing stages the Blues still had too much for a dogged Tulla team. Clare star Colin Ryan was the hero of the hour being unerring from placed balls notching 0-11 over the hour while their goal came from substitute Seanie Arthur.
