The Blues and the 'Bridge through to contest Clare Cup final

Arch rivals and near neighbours Sixmilebridge and Newmarket-on-Fergus will contest this years Clare Cup (division 1 senior hurling league) final after both sides had comfortable wins last weekend. In Sixmilebridge on Saturday evening Newmarket overcame Broadford overcame 3-12 to 1-9. Bernard Gaffey notched 1-5 over the hour while also receving good support from Eoin Hayes (1-2), Jim McInerney (1-1) and Colin Ryan (0-3). For Broadford Cathal Chaplin top scored with 1-5 from placed balls. In the other semi-final placed at Tulla, Sixmilebridge beat Smith O'Brien's 3-21 to 1-6 with Caimin Morey top scoring with 3-2 others to feature well in the scoring stakes were Niall Gilligan (0-7) and Danny Morey (0-6). Liam "Goose" Walsh got the Smith O'Brien's goal which ironically was the first score of the game after just three minutes.
