Clare minors celebrate their Munster success
Goalkeeper Ronan Taaffe and wing forward Cathal Malone have emerged as injury doubts for Clare's ESB All-Ireland MHC semi-final against Dublin on Sunday.
Both players will undergo fitness tests tonight which will determine if they will be able to line out at Croke Park at the weekend. Taaffe suffered a dislocated shoulder injury during a training session in Leixlip, Co. Kildare last Monday week following a familiarisation trip to Croke Park. However, it's believed his condition has improved since and he was able to take part in non-contact training on Monday night.
Malone also sustained a shoulder injury in training last week and is also on the doubtful list.
"We're still hopeful that both players will be okay," Clare joint manager Gerry O'Connor said.
"Ronan has yet to train under contact but is getting better and Cathal is in a similar position. We'll put both lads through their paces tonight and then talk to our physio and medical people about it.
"We'll make a call on it then, based on how they fared when picking the team."
If Taaffe fails to make it, Niall Woods will replace him between the posts. Cathal O'Connell and Alan Mulready, meanwhile, are on standby to replace Malone.
