Minus their Kilmurry-Ibrickane players who are preparing for Wednesday's All-Ireland club final, the Banner fell behind to an early Ciaran McCallion point before recovering to lead by 0-4 to 0-1. But a great goal by ex-Carlow star Derek Hayden quickly brought London back onto level terms.

McCallion's second point edged the Exiles back in front, but their lead was short-lived as Clare upped the tempo and went on to lead by 1-11 to 1-6 at the break thanks to Alan Clohessy's 25th minute goal.

The home side enjoyed the lion's share of possession in the third quarter, but couldn't make it count and Clare finished with five unanswered points from David Tubridy and David Russell to win by 11. Tweet
