Kilmurry Ilbrickans Noel Downes
Kilmurry-Ibrickane are still sweating over the fitness of ace forward Noel Downes ahead of next week's All-Ireland club SFC final against St Gall's at Croke Park.
Downes picked up a shoulder injury in his team's semi-final victory at the end of last month just after registering his side's crucial goal which helped them to victory over Portloaise and the fears now are that he could miss his club's first ever appearance in an All-Ireland decider
"Unfortunately, Noel hasn't been able to train since the Portlaoise game," said Kilmurry-Ibrickane chairman, Gerard Talty, whose son Evan is expected to line-out at left half-back in the final.
Apart from Downes, team manager Michael McDermott has no other major concerns for the final but he will want his number 15 to recover in time to play against the Antrim and Ulster champions who are favourites to take the title on St Patrick's Day.
