Meelick GAA Club Notes

February 08, 2010
The Alan Boyce Memorial Match was played on Saturday last and was a great occasion for all. The game took place in Pairc Cnoc Na Lisheen and was football match between Meelick and Parteen. There was a good display of football skills on the day for the large crowd in attendance. Captain for the Meelick team was Jason Boyce, Alan's older brother and incidentally, scored the first score of the game. The Alan Boyce Memorial Trophy was presented to the Meelick team after winning on a scoreline of 2-12 to 0-07. Man of the Match went to Greg Daly who was presented with a trophy by sponsor Brendan Healy. There was a collection at the gate with all proceeds going to Milford Care Hospice. €500 was raised on the day. Check out the website http://meelick.clare.gaa.ie for full match report and photos from the game. On Sunday last, the club welcomed Ard Scoil Ris and St Caimins in the Harty Cup Semi Final. A very large crowd descended onto Meelick with many cars parked up far as Brennan's Cross. Ard Scoil won on the day. In other news, there is Juvenile training in the club. Every Tuesday and Thursday there is U14 hurling at 7PM and every Wednesday there is U12 football at 7.30PM. Both training sessions are held in the club grounds. All new players welcome.
