Kennedy upbeat after intermediates fly flag

June 26, 2009
Clare intermediate hurling manager Kevin Kennedy praised his players after they ran Cork close in their Munster IHC semi-final. The Banner lost by 2-16 to 1-14 at Limerick on Sunday and Kennedy said: "The fact that [Cork] had a first-round game and that many of their players had played in the recent [national hurling] league played a big part in Cork's win. "We saw them hammer Tipperary in the first round and we saw where they were strong in that game. I am happy that we were ready for that on Sunday. "There is a team there capable of winning this title but we need for all to sit down and plan a programme that will suit to prepare for the championship."
