Clare captain Brian O'Connell is in no doubt that being involved in the build up to a championship match is as exciting as the match itself, as he prepares for the Munster SHC semi-final clash against Tipperary. O'Connell will lead the banner out against the Premier County on Sunday, knowing that they are massive underdogs against the defending Munster champions. However, he is soaking up every minute of the build up to the match, which is Clare's first competitive outing since the league concluded, two months ago. "There is a buzz there now as the game approaches. I got a text today from a lad who used to be on the panel, saying he will miss the hype and the build up," said O'Connell.
