Browne focused on Clare test
June 05, 2009
Limerick star Padraig Browne insists none of Mickey Ned O'Sullivan's panel is looking past the challenge of Clare in Sunday's Munster SFC semi-final in Ennis.
Following their victory over National Football League Division 3 champions Tipperary in the first round, the Shannonsiders are red-hot favourites to book a final date against either Kerry or Cork in July.
The sides last met in the Championship three years ago, when Limerick edged Clare on a three-point margin (2-5 to 0-8).
Since then, Clare's form has dipped alarmingly - but Browne has declared that the team is taking nothing for granted against the Banner men this weekend.
He said: "It has been hammered into us at training that we are not in any Munster final. The ultimate is that we beat Clare on Sunday - nothing else matters.
"People are congratulating us and saying that we can reach a Munster final now but we can't think like that.
"It is vital that we win. If we lose to Clare, the win over Tipperary will be worthless."
