Considine linked with Limerick post

August 25, 2008
Less than twelve months after he was removed from the Clare management position, Tony Considine is being mentioned as a candidate for the vacant Limerick job. Considine, an All-Ireland winning selector under Ger Loughnane, held the Banner post for just one year in 2007 before he was removed by the county board after a number of public spats between both parties. The run ins with the county board made it nearly impossible for Considine to continue in his role and he was duly replaced by Mike McNamara in the Clare hotseat this year. However, he is still highly rated and his name has been mentioned in association with the Limerick position, which is now vacant after Richie Bennis was told his three year term would not be automatically renewed.
