Clare manager Colm Collins is confident that they can deal with the loss of some key players for the 2020 campaign.

Collins faces into the New Year without the likes of Aaron Fitzgerald, Sean O’Donoghue, Jamie Malone and Gary Brennan.

The loss of the latter two is seen as a huge blow to the Banner County has the experienced that they possess cannot be easily replaced.

However, Collins told the Clare Champion that they were in a similar position last year when they lost key players and still went on to have a decent year, which saw them come close to a place in the Super 8s.

“The year before, we were down a whole load of players and everybody stepped up to the mark and they performed really well, so it is just the same thing this year,” said Collins.

“Year in, year out you have changes to every panel, in every team. Injuries play their part too in all but the core group is still very strong, I believe. We are looking forward to it all.”
