Clare captain Gary Brennan is set for a hectic schedule on the club scene during the month of April, but the towering midfielder is taking it all in his stride.

Many counties have opted to begin their club championships during the coming month as the GAA have tried to make it a county-free zone during that period. That plan may have backfired slightly, but in the main, a lot of counties will be sticking to their schedule.

That means their will be hurling and football championships taking place, and for dual players like Brennan, it will be all go over the coming weeks as he could face up to eight games between both codes over five weekends.

"The next thing is Cusack and Clare Cup for the next five weekends in a row. Three of those are double weekends for guys that are dual players," Brennan told the Clare Champion.

"It'll be a busy few weeks but it can be refreshing. It all depends how you're going with the club. It certainly should freshen things up and we won't be together as often with the county team. It's about getting quality into our training and trying to be at the right pitch come the middle of May."

Clare take on Limerick in the opening round of the Munster senior football championship and this game will be played at the Gaelic Grounds on May 19th.
