Clare manager Colm Collins is not dwelling on the loss of Jamie Malone and Gordon Kelly.

The players along with Collins picked up suspensions arising from incidents during their last NFL Division Two clash against Tipperary.

Collins is still upset about the refereeing during the match, but instead of lamenting the loss of the players, he has opted to look ahead and stressed to the Clare Champion that teams are always without key players and you just have to get on with it.

"On any given day, our job is to get a team on the pitch that can give us the best chance of winning the match. When Ballyea went on their run in 2017, we had some excellent players that weren't available to us and we just got on with it," said Collins.

"This is no different. If we can't deal with the loss of one or two players, we're going nowhere. The players on the panel will view this as a big opportunity to break in and get a jersey."

This weekend, Clare head north where they will take on Down at Pairc Esler on Sunday. A win for the Banner would lift them on to four points level with the Mourne men.
