My bet would be Shannon Gaels for this prestigious award!!! Beat an ageing swad team but gaels have a lot of young lads coming in there mad to be seen!!!!

Well i'l take it that came from some of the players or management that spent half an hour before the game complaining that it was the 2nd team so qwhen they were wrong it means you've heard wrong

Because Baileborough's 2nd team hadnt played yet,they had to name 15 players comprising a second team who couldnt play for the third team.
On that second team,they named at least one player,(ive been told their were more),who already had appeared for their senior team in the intermediate championship,How could a player who played for their senior team,who was not eligable to play for their second 15,be named in their second 15???

teams such as ballyhaise killinkere etc have always kept 1 or 2 players who would easily make their second teams for the 3rd teams so they would win it out, has always gone on

This is just another shambles by the county board. It can't be that difficult to arrange to have the higher grade championships started before the lower grades.

I don't really think any club would rather win the lesser championship at the expense of the winning at a higher grade. Sometimes its possible that a player could miss out on playing at the higher grade due to being injured/holidays/suspended etc., and then turn out for his club at the lower level.

Ballyhaise lodged an objection about this to the CB, and they just laughed at it. Shows what the CB think about junior football. Its a disgrace that players who train all year as hard as the seniors of their clubs are treated in such a manner by a CB who are supposed to look after all players interests, regardless of what division they are playing in. The fact that Baileboro had 13 subs for a 3rd team championship game just shows the lunacy of it all.

soure grapes 4 a fact boro had no snr players starting myt hav had 2 that would b on the bench but those would have never played snr football there on the bench for there efferts in training boro lost 30 players due to snr players and 14 who were named on 2nd grade panel the fact that they had agood number of players is due to the fact that there is strong number of players this year

you can seem to grasp the situation,
No-one is saying Baileborough had senior players starting on their 3rd team,The problem is that they named on their "second team list of 15 players" players who had already played intermediate championship,These players were not eligable to be on any 2nd team list,as they had already played 1st team football.
Anyone who has participated for the 1st team(even 1 minute of action) is not allowed to either play for(or be put on any list for a 2nd team)
I dont particularly agree with the objection our club made as the game is over and done with,but what Baileborough done was a joke.

If it's true that boro named someone who had played inter already on the 2nds panel then without doubt they should be kicked out of that (2nds) competition.

The rules are there for a reason.

While it undoubtedly had a knock on effect on the strength of the 3rds team I'm not so sure you could argue that as a reason for taking action against that team.

id say shannon gaels would be strong fav's, bet the defending champions by 13 points at the weekend, seen them in div6 game earlier in the year without any of their seniors and they looked impressive.
Now that Bailieborough 2nd team have played their 3rd team cant be as stong against Kildallan, winners of this again have a great chance of winning. Templeport and arva are also in the semi's and shouldnt be ruled out
