Someone from group A anyway. The four best teams in it, all in the same group. My favourites are Shannon Gaels and Cornafean. I would say Swad ahead of the Reds if mc kiernan was with them.

I have seen most of the teams this year already. The swad are putting up big scores, but against poor teams.Shannon Gaels will go close.Shercock are playing well in div 2.Cornafean also playing well. Its between these four I think.

ive seen munchies a few times this year. they are clear favorites to win junior championship. the young lads who lost in a replay a few years ago are now mature and they now have 4 or 5 new young players. the mccabes nolans sheridan s o reilly p cullen would get on any senior team. t mccabe s o reilly s sheridan were vital to ramor winning div 1 u 21. they have a real cutting edge this year. get your money on now!

Shercock shouldnt be overlooked, they are 5th in Division2, look where last years junior champions are in Division 2. For a long number of years they were fav's before JFC started and failed to live up to expectations, pressure seems to be off them this year so i think they'll be hardest to beat.
Swad will be starting to build for JFC now, mark cunningham should be back, they're unlikely to win it without G McKiernan but with the semi's/final not till Sept he may be back for them.
Shannon Gaels are fav's with the team they have, alot of their players have experience of getting to JFC semi's and finals, deserved fav's.
Cornafean are going well and if they make it out of group will be hard stopped, only worry id have is they may be peaking 2-3 months to early.
Munchies have a good young team who have been playing together for a few years, if they have full team to choose from they'll be heard beaten.
Arva's form has dipped in the last few weeks but if they can get all their players back no team will fancy playing against them.
mountnugent and kildallan are also capable of beating anyone on the day so dont be suprised to see either team make at least the semi

Swad are too unreliable, they could get to the final and win it by a cricket score or lose the quarters by the same margin. If they applied themselves they would win it hands down. Even without G McKiernan they have a quality midfield. It's hard to look past Shercock or Shannon Gaels at this stage. The Division 3 teams will always find it hard to live with Shercock and I think that should stand to them.

Very hard to call this year. Swad and shannon gaels putting up very high scores so will be hard stopped. Shercock might be in the running as well!!

Munchies v Reds
should be a good game here although defeat for either team could leave them too much to do to qualify in the group of death. Reds will have their tails up after gaining promotion, only question on them is have they peaked too early for jfc. Muchies are a good footballing team with plenty of championship experience, they could shade it....Munchies by 1

Kildallan v Mountnugent
not sure what the update on givney is but without him mountnugent chances in this game arnt great. Kildallan will be hard beaten in jfc and if the weather is good on thursday they should win...Kildallan by 3

Maghera v Shercock
not much word on shercock this year which is the way they'll like it, always hyped up. Had a good enough season in div 2 and this will stand to them. Maghera didnt win a game in div3 so unlikely they'll come out of this group. Maghera will try to be physical but the championship dark horses will be too fit and fast to slip up here....Shercock by 8

Arva v Corlough
Corlough are the form team here and will fancy their chances against the other 3 teams in the group. Arva had a great start to the season but lost their way after loosing a few players. If they have a full team available should be fav's for this game however ballyconnell is corlough's back yard so it will be close....Arva by 1

Shannon Gaels v Swad
what a game to start off with, 2 best teams in jfc, think they'll be happy to have met each other in the 1st game to get it out of the way. On league form you would fancy SG but swad are a great championship team and will want to put down a marker. They have a more powerful team which means alot in these sort of games.....Swad by 2

Swad, Shannon Gaels are the two best teams in the jfc this year. Shercock might have a say but they usually fall apart in the business end of the championship. Maybe the munchies also. Arva too young maybe in two years. The reds have no forwards. Kildallan need two balls on the pitch one for the full forward and one for the rest, easily stopped. Templeport, Corlough and the finns no chance.

Muntirconnacht will be dangerous, Swad and SG have the men to do it, but dont often perform in the latter stages, eg swad in last years final, SG in 2007 final. Reds have a solid defence, but are very poor up front. Shercock will be very strong, playing div2 football will stand to them. You can take your pick from these five, nobody else will have a look in.

Agreed. Poor ref. Reds deserved a draw, were the better team in the second half, but Munchies to their credit never gave up.

Arthur,

Is Taz still the goalie for the reds?

What did he do to get the two yellows?
