Practically every Competition in the world is reported on by the media by publishing the League table. For example the 6 nations the World cup the premiership League 1 will, apart from match reports have the league standing published as part of the sports reporting. Why is is then that rarely if ever will you see a league table in a Cavan newspaper No senior League no Underage it's part of the joy of following a sport to look at a table and goal difference, games in hand etc. This year you will be locky to see a fully updated League table for the Senior leagues perhaps once or twice for the season you will not see one underage table. but you will see pictures of people out drinking in pubs near cavan town! ochonlir (Cavan) - Posts: 4343 - 17/03/2010 14:18:36 590505 Link 0 |

+1 it's ridiculous trying to follow any leagues in cavan if it wasn't for the league tables that are uploaded here now and then i dunno how i'd know where anyone was summerof69 (Cavan) - Posts: 49 - 17/03/2010 15:36:18 590549 Link 0 |

if they supply me with the details I would keep the league tables around the County up to date on www.cavan.gaa.ie but sadly they don't supply this information The Quiet Man (Cavan) - Posts: 4602 - 17/03/2010 17:50:23 590617 Link 0 |

sean, take a look at the arva gaa site.the refs report the results and the results go up on the site.this is something the cavan gaa site has access to but has yet to incorporate it in the site.whether thats your fault or someone else's,i dont know, but im sure you could have some say in getting it sorted out.the celt have league tables for all senior football in it every week. shapes42 (Cavan) - Posts: 383 - 17/03/2010 21:15:11 590822 Link 0 |

sorry but i dont keep my celts.but maybe we can return to this debate when the league starts.anyway they are updated on here within a day, sometimes even the night the matches were played.you expect them to update tables when there are normally more people on the field than in the crowd, well if you dont show interest in going to the games, why would anyone think that someone would be interested in seeing league tables? shapes42 (Cavan) - Posts: 383 - 17/03/2010 21:44:40 590882 Link 0 |

you.im saying that the celt has the tables for div 1,2 and 3 every week,or at worst every other week.any leagues other than that, tend to have more people on the pitch than people supporting.so if people arent showing interest in the games why would you feel someone would be interested in the tables? shapes42 (Cavan) - Posts: 383 - 18/03/2010 13:14:46 591244 Link 0 |

30 players,ref,2 lines men,4 umpires, coaches and subs.yes they should be able to see that, but why would papers waste their time when it looks there is no interest.does the celt not have fixtures every week?the county website doesnt.the county website is an absolute disgrace, just because it's not up to date doesnt mean the celt cant be. shapes42 (Cavan) - Posts: 383 - 18/03/2010 13:51:28 591316 Link 0 |

Can't understand how they can say that the county board doesn't have the weekend results when the PRO sends them to the Irish Independent on Sunday evenings. The board should take a look at the Kilkenny website, there if you click on a clubs name you get all their fixtures for the year, if you click on a venue you get all games to be played at that venue and if you click on the competition you get the appropriate league table. It's very user friendly and doesn't look that expensive. Giles (Cavan) - Posts: 13 - 18/03/2010 14:11:09 591360 Link 0 |

Again Shapes you are argueing with yourself you seem to think that nobody goes to games and therore the Celt shouldn't publish league tables ochonlir (Cavan) - Posts: 4343 - 20/03/2010 17:37:41 593501 Link 0 |

what was the last club game you were at,that wasnt senior?how many supporters were there?can you point me as to where i said they shouldnt post the league tables?as ive said if i was running a newspaper i wouldnt publish something if there looked to be no interest in it,and in my experience there doesnt seem to be much interest in underage.for example,i was at the minor county game today,100 people tops.thats a county game. shapes42 (Cavan) - Posts: 383 - 20/03/2010 19:37:13 593561 Link 0 |

I would go to 405 games a week and as you should know the senior league hasn't started yet so the last time I went to a game that wasn't a senior one was an underage challenge last sunday ochonlir (Cavan) - Posts: 4343 - 20/03/2010 19:57:51 593575 Link 0 |

are you sure it was a challenge?in another thread you seem to be mistaking a tournament final for a challenge match. shapes42 (Cavan) - Posts: 383 - 20/03/2010 21:01:12 593628 Link 0 |

You haven't made a single point other than that LTs are in the celt every week and you have made it several times. ochonlir (Cavan) - Posts: 4343 - 20/03/2010 21:19:27 593649 Link 0 |
