First up, thanks to Terry and his back room team for their efforts in the last few seasons. They raised the expectations if not always the quality.
Yesterday gives the co board it's mandate to change things. The next manager appointment will decide if the u21 successes will be worth anything so it's a big one.
Best to stay away from anyone involved in those teams, the players need a new voice.

Bring in someone who knows that's Seanie Johnston is a 2 footed scoring forward. Better than any Cavan forward on show this year or last year or the year before.

After the disappointment of yesterday the county senior team needs a new voice. Terry Hyland did alot of good work over the past 5 years if you include his period as joint manager with Val Andrews. However, there comes a point in time when it becomes obvious that a manage has brought a group of players as far as he can. Going forward the county needs an outsider, with something to prove. I hope the following are in contention:

1. Joe Kiernan
2. James McCartan
3. Kevin McStay

I think we need to go hell and bent for Martin McHugh, always felt he has unfinished work in Cavan, I great football man.

If we can get all player to commit next year including Keating, Given and in Killian Clarke, Mackey, McKiernan, Rory Dunne, McDermott we have a good base to start from.

Our tackling was like what you see in a u12 match, players just sticking out their arms and when we do tackle we are fouling in the eyes of the refs. Players didn;t know who they was marking.

Still having nightmares over the Monaghan match, they were there to beaten.

When Corr got sent off, Cavan should off set up defensive and keep it close.

It hasn't taken long for the knives to be drawn.
Let's take a few days for the dust to settle before any harsh decisions are made.
I know it's very hard to cope with disappointment after disappointment.
Worrying thing for me is the dwindling number of Cavan supporters, this would suggest to me that the feeling of no expectation.
Felt sorry for Terry, he was bitterly disappointed and to be honest some of the big players were marked absent for long periods of the game and a bit like Westmeath players may need to ask themselves a few questions as much as management do.

I think that is is important that both supporters and the county board show a bit of class now and give Terry a chance to do the right thing. We owe him some respect for the effort and success that he brought to us and nobody needs to see a witch hunt. In time I am certain that he will resign. Lets not go down the British media route....

Agree, we need to give time and space and respect to Terry Hyland. he has done great work.
The players have given their all too.

I wouldn't agree with the suggestion for Martin Mc Hugh.

Hyland is every bit as good a manager as Evans. Cavan don't have a single intercounty forward on thr field so how can you hope to win at a competitive level..........and none coming through either. Hyland has done well with quality at his disposal. Man for man Roscommon were much superior. New manager will not change things.

For the good of Cavan football though, it's time he left.

Looking forward, as a county we have to decide what the extent of our ambition is. Are we willing to break the bank and go all out to secure a high-profile name, a character that these players deserve to have coaching them after years of hard work and sacrifice. I believe the players there deserve the very best. To those mentioning McGuinness, get real, not going to happen, why would be disrupt his schedule with Celtic? Also, if you're into rumours, Cavan turned him down a few years ago before he got the Donegal job. Shows what we know eh?

The man we need is James Horan. Go out and get him, and show these players that we are serious about our commitment to them, that we want them to work with the best. We have a settled squad and a bit more professionalism. But in terms of having closed the gap on the top teams, no, we haven't done that.
