Cavan vs. Sligo-League Rd.5

(Oldest Posts First)

Another week, another match.  A good result last week and in much better form but can we continue with a consecutive win in Markievicz Park this Sunday ahead of the game against Sligo. A vital game for us. Whats the thoughts on the game ahead?

A narrow Cavan victory...no then again, what am I hoping for? We won our last match and played very well, so im guessing this time we're going to be beaten. Thats how it usually goes.

We're going to win, lose or draw. I don't think anyone can seriously call what Cavan team will show up on Sunday.

well i think the best way for this cavan team to be more consistent is for them to keep to more or less the same team for at least a year no matter how the results go for us ,all the changing around with new faces in and out is damaging the team ,look at monaghan there team nearly looks the same every time yea they switch players around a bit but i think its what got them playing a higher division football each player knows what each other can do and they know where they can score from so they try get that player into them positions ,so i say leave the panel and subs we have and let them work at it -it will get better .and sligo should be a game cavan should have no problem beating but its all on the day too ,best of luck ,and no doubt sligo will have watched cavans last time out and might have a worry about there midfield so its important they dont let sligo kick it out short .

well if we keep playing midfielders in midfield we have a chance, not a concidence that certain "players" not being there, and us winning the first MF battle of the year me thinks

oh never, sure i have always been his biggest fan ;)
i see galligan in for givney, and M. rielly for lyng.... lyng must be disappointed with his form of late, like alot of posters here i think he might be used to better effect on the half forward line. now, i think Carr could put himself in a spot come championship time with CHF, unless he is prepared to play nesty no matter what happens, ie. a dip in form or something, dont get me wrong, i think he has been one of the better additions to the squad in the last few years, maybe its me just thinking too hard!

i think lyng should be in half forward, thats where he plays best, also as far as i know nestys club position is corner forward.

Nesty plays Centre Forward for his club in Dublin, and has done in a county final.
Rumours are that Lyng has left the panel also

I am a fan but you have to wonder if all those injuries have taken their toll on the guy.
