Don't for one second sit in front of your computer and tell me that the GAA care about you they do not. I have witnessed it first hand what the GAA do to players who they have burnt out ect. They ignore them they charge them to get into games many of them are struggling to make ends meet but do they care no they don't. Fecking referees are paid and they get free passes to get into most games is that fair??
For years I have seen quality players walk away not because they had not got the commitment but because of their type of work or studies, they were given no choice yes no choice by management so the majority decided they will play for their clubs but not the county. I watched grown men and ladies cry because they had to walk away over an individual that did not have man/woman management.
Just an observation or a point of view TELL me how many managers have done man/woman management, maybe it's time when bringing managers in that they understand what player management is as well. Something for the GAA need to think about. I will put fully paid coaching in that bracket as well. People do training courses have any of them done player management anger management discipline management the list goes on. I could write a book on this alone.
Tell me what incentive is there for any young lad or girl to give up their social life for what I ask ? tell me for what???
Cavan had quality players but did not know how to hold onto them it's that simple I know from experience.
Names have been mentioned here of people that either walked away despite their potential or were left go for one reason or another. Did it ever cross your mind to ask the player's themselves why they are not in on the panel, TRY it some DAY, if they are honest with you let me tell you that you will be surprised.
At the end of the day the player get's nothing financially as they are amateur's what do the management get ????
Come on you want players to commit look after them it's that simple.

Last year you were blaming "player power" for all our woes. Today it's the big bad "GAA"

There is no consistency to anything you say on here, it's all mindless bluster."
Did I post last year did you miss me. Try and locate that last post for when I posted that specific post it was player power . I am now replying to a post as to why players will not commit to training 6 day's a week for it's impossible if one is trying to get an education hold down a part time job to earn money for themselves while at college. Fredflint you enjoy confronting me but yet you fail to meet me when I call you out.
If you are or were involved in some way or another you know what I am writing is correct. I went back to college to get my degree between 2008 and 2012 so I understand how hard it is for youngsters to get an education and to be involved with the sport. It's near impossible with all you have to do with assignments studying ect too find time to train.

You mention player power it's ugly many on here will have experienced it in one way or another. It's hateful. I have witnessed it first hand so I know what it's like.
As I missed the majority of this year gone by due to illness I really cannot comment but the last two Cavan games I saw I could see the ugly side of it once again.
Happy xmas to most of you and I hope a prosperous New Year
Slán"]The last man who left the panel was removed from the panel so maybe you should check your facts

Maybe its Monaghan he's been following all these years.

Most of his posts would make more sense if they were the case!

So Mackey,Thomas Galligan and Conor Redhill not playing County next year either. Mackey was a top player, great guile and intelligence on the ball. He saved Cavan In drawn Armagh game.
