Drumalee and Ballinagh clash ends in a draw

The Cavan SFL Division 2 top of the table clash between Drumalee and Ballinagh at St. Felims Park, Drumalee on Sunday 24th April proved an exciting affair between two determined sides.
The game was played in ideal weather conditions and was watched by a large crowd. There was very little between the sides over the hour, with the home side Drumalee ahead at the break by 0-5 to 0-3.
The second-half followed a similar pattern as the first with only a score or two between the sides at any time. As the game entered into its final minutes the Drumalee side were ahead by a point. However, an extra-time point by Ballinagh wing forward Declan Beard earned his side a share of the spoils.
A draw was a fair result in a contest between two sides who hopes to be in contention for Division 1 promotion at the end of the season. Final score Drumalee 0-10, Ballinagh 0-10.

Ballinagh win junior game
In the junior game at the same venue on Sunday, visiting Ballinagh proved too strong for the home side Drumalee winning an enjoyable game on a scoreline of 1-14 to 1-11.
Best for Drumalee in defence were Y. Young and J. Reilly. At midfield Declan Flood had his moments, while up front F. Donohoe, B. Dolan and Shane Downey were always a threat.
Best for Ballinagh in defence were E. Brady and D. McCarthy. At midfield M. Dunne and C. McDermott tried hard. Up front, C. Gumley and Ruairi Brennan were the chief dangermen.

Cavan G.A.A. Supporters Club (Cavan Branch)
The Cavan Branch of the supporters club are currently running a draw for a car. The tickets are priced at §20 each and a book of three for §50 euro.
