Anthony Forde says Cavan are desperate to make amends for last year's tame All-Ireland football qualifier exit at the hands of Roscommon.

The counties renew their rivalry at Kingspan Breffni Park this weekend and reflecting on last year's clash, assistant manager Forde told the Irish News: "It was the manner in which we went down to Roscommon last year that was the disappointing thing.

"Probably in our four years that we've been there it was one of the days that we just didn't perform. We didn't do anything right on the day and Roscommon were much better than us. You get days like that. It happens to the best of teams.

"Roscommon were quicker to the ball, they were more comfortable on the ball and they took their scores. Roscommon can do that to you. They are in Division 1 next year and we know the quality they have. They have some very good footballers."

Forde revealed that full back Rory Dunne could be available, despite being stretchered off with what looked a serious ankle injury in the first round qualifier win over Cavan. Killian Clarke will also undergo a late fitness test on a hamstring problem, while Martin Dunne is fit again after missing the Ruislip game with a hand injury.
