Conditioning coach Nicholas Walsh believes Ireland are in for a tough time against a very strong Australia team.

The Aussies fielded an understrength side for last year's International Rules Series here in Ireland, but Walsh notes that this year's selection contains some "real stars":

"It has got a lot more coverage this year in the papers, the websites and on social media," the Cavan man is quoted in The Irish News. "When you put your best players out there, that's what attracts the people to it.

"When the stars are in the front window, people are going to come and see them.

"We played an indigenous team last year and a lot of people felt it wasn't their best team but it was something the AFL were trying.

"This year we're playing against some very good players, real stars who are winning best and fairest in their own clubs, so it's going to be a very tough Test in Perth.

"This will be a very hard game for us. They have picked a team that are really physical. They are not overly big but they are really aggressive so the message to our boys will be that you need to play the four quarters all the way."
