Cavan's Martin Reilly

Martin Reilly has been named the Club Breifne Cavan Senior Player of the Year for 2014.

The Killygarry forward had an excellent National League campaign for Cavan this past season, helping Terry Hyland's team to promotion from Division Three and was one of the Breffni men's best performers in the final defeat to Roscommon at Croke Park.

The former Burnley FC and Irish U17 international follows in the footsteps of previous winners such as Dermot McCabe, Larry Reilly and Anthony Forde among others, with Kingscourt's Pat Faulkner the first recipient of the award in 1989.

"Martin had a very, very good National League campaign for us, he played several different roles and was instrumental in us getting promoted," Hyland told The Anglo-Celt.

"He looks after himself very well, you could say Martin is the ultimate professional in an amateur sport."
