Confidence not a concern for Hyland

Cavan manager Terry Hyland believes that one thing his young side won't be lacking in is confidence.

Hyland has handed debuts to Martin Dunne and Conor Gilsenan for Sunday's Ulster SFC clash against Armagh, while in general, it was a very young side, with a number of players lining out for the under-21s in the last two to three years.

There is a genuine concern amongst the county's supporters that the players could be overawed by the occasion, but Hyland stressed to the Anglo-Celt that certainly wouldn't be the case.

"The young fellas have that belief in themselves, they have competed against other county teams and beaten them," said Hyland.

"What they have to bring to the next stage, and that's the trick for us as managers. They did show a lot of heart in the league and we will need it again this Sunday, and hopefully we will get it."
