Golf Classic

Bingo
Our bingo will continue on Friday next in the Town Hall at 9pm. Thanks to our bingo patrons for their consistent support.
Monster Bingo
Thanks to all those who were involved in organising our monster bingo last weekend. It is due to the efforts of our many stewards that the bingo was run so efficiently.
Saturday Morning Coaching
Our under-age coaching continues in Terry Coyle Park on Saturday mornings from 11-12.30.
Division 1A
Well done to our division 1A team who continued their winning ways again on Sunday last with a convincing away victory over Castlerahan.

Division 2
Our division two team play Swanlinbar in Terry Coyle Park on Wednesday evening next at 7.30.This team has played some fine football in the course of the competition but inconsistency has bedevilled their efforts at times. Hopefully on Wednesday they can get back to playing to their true potential. Best of luck.
County Seniors
Best of luck to the Cavan senior team as they take on Armagh in Bréifne Park on Sunday next. Martin Dunne, Kevin Meehan, Niall Murray and Marc Leddy are on the county panel.
County Minor
Best of luck to Barry Fortune who will line out against Armagh in the preliminary round of the Ulster minor championship on Sunday next.

Brock Colleges Final
Hard luck to the St Pats Brock Cup team who were narrowly defeated after extra-time in the final against St Pats Dungannon recently. We congratulate in particular the Cavan Gaels players who were on the panel- Shane Fortune, Luke Fortune, Fintan Carolan, Jermaine O Rourke, Keenan Donohoe, Stephen Ronan and Ryan Smith. Shane Fortune, Luke Fortune, Fintan Carolan and Jermaine O Rourke all played their part on the day.
Under-12
Our under-12s took part in an under-12 festival of football on the 3G pitch in Breifne Park on Monday last. We were paired with Gowna, Ramor United, Crosserlough and Castletara. We acquitted ourselves well. Thanks to all the parents who help out so willingly and supportively. A reminder to all concerned that the summer league will be starting in a few weeks.
Under-14
Our under-14s played their first game in this year's under-14 league when they met Ramor United. After a splendid game we were defeated by a point. We were defeated by Crosserlough in our next game. We play Laragh United at home on 13 May.
Under-16
Our under-16s opened their campaign with a home game against West Cavan Gaels on Thursday last. After a competitive first half we ran out convincing winners. We then had a narrow loss to Ballyhaise. In our next game we were at home to Ramor United. Despite a great effort the spoils went to the visitors.
Under-14 Girls Football
Congratulations to our under-14 girls on their latest victory, this time away to Cuchullains. Well done to all involved.
Under-10
Our under-10s took part in an under-10 blitz on Saturday last in Drumalee. They acquitted themselves well. Well done to all concerned.
Camogie
Well done to our camogie team on another win, this time against Castletara, by 5-3 to 2-3 in the junior B league. Congratulations to all involved.
Three-Legged Race
A reminder to those who still have money to bring in connection with the recent three-legged race. Please bring the money to your next training session and give it to your coach.
Merchandise
A reminder that a wide range of Cavan Gaels merchandise can be purchased at very competitive prices from our new merchandising officer, Caroline Forde (086-3722322). Gift vouchers for our club merchandise are also available and would make a suitable present for First Communion and Confirmation.

Ulster Council Treasurer
Congratulations to Cavan Gaels man, Oliver Galligan, on being elected Ulster Council Treasurer at the recent Ulster GAA convention. Oliver, a former Cavan Gaels player and chairman, was previously Ulster Council PRO. He was Cavan Gaels chairman from 1992-1996 and as a player he won senior championship medals in 1975, 1977 and 1978. He also won senior league medals in 1971 and 1976 when he was captain. We wish Oliver well in his new position.

.O'Reilly/Reilly Clan Gathering
The Life of Reilly Festival, as part of the Cavan Gathering, will take place from August 19 to August 25. Among the events taking place are the election of a clan chieftain, a banquet, a golf classic and numerous historical and musical events. Details can be accessed on the website O'Reilly.Reilly Clan All the O'Reillys/Reillys in the club are asked to take note of this festival and to spread the word.
Mission Trimpossible
Mission Trimpossible held a 5km walk/run on Sunday morning last at 12 midday starting and finishing at the Studio, Dublin Road. Thanks to the generosity of the participants a total of 300 euro was collected on the day for the very worthy charity Sosad. Thanks to the organisers of this venture for all the money they continue to raise for Cavan Gaels and charity.

Mouth Guards
A reminder to parents of all our players up to minor age that as and from January 1 2013 mouth guards are compulsory for players in this age group. They must be worn at training and games.

We are pleased to announce that Planning Permission has been granted for our proposed developments in Terry Coyle Park.
