Bailieborough Shamrocks Club Notes

May 09, 2013

Swanlinbar's Seamus Corrigan with Bailieboro`s Damien Reilly during the league game in St Annes Park.
O Reilly point proves decisive.
The senior team left it late for the second time in 3 matches when they achieved a 1 point win over Swanlinbar in St Anne's Park on Saturday evening last in a Division 2 league match. With the teams holding down 2nd and 3rd place in the league the game took as an added significance as a win for the Shamrocks would see them leap frog their opponents into the promotion spot. Bailieborough led by 1- 9 to 1- 7 at half time, the goal coming from Owen O Sullivan. In the second half they failed to convert early superiority into scores and were force to depend on the accuracy of Damien O Reilly in the 31st minute to secure the win despite a late onslaught from Swad. This win sees Bailieborough now occupy 2nd place in the league table which is very positive for team manager Barry Mc Ardle who is pleased with the response which he is getting form this young team. Nevertheless it is important to remember that is a long hard season ahead and a lot of tough games to play. Next game is a double fixture against Drung in St Anne's park on Sunday next.
Training continues on Tuesday and Friday nights at 8 pm - all players senior and junior please attend.

Under 16s

The under 16s continue train on Monday evenings and will have a league fixture this week on Thursday at home to Templeport in St Anne's Park at 7.15.

The Division 2 side play Lavey at 12 o clock on Sunday in the Park while the Division 4 side play Killygarry B, time and venue to be confirmed. Hopefully the girls can secure two wins and all support would be greatly appreciated.
