Givney's warning for Donegal

Cavan's David Givney
Cavan midfielder David Givney has warned Donegal that they'll get nothing easy on Sunday.

The sides meet in the 2012 Ulster SFC opener at Breffni Park this weekend and 22-year-old Givney is adamant that the defending provincial champions won't have things as easy as they did last year, when Jim McGuinness' men won by nine points:

"Last year we got a bit of a shock and they had it very easy in the end but we've gone back to the drawing board and we've tried to put things right - they won't get it as easy this year.

"We learned a lot of harsh lessons last year," the Cavan vice-captain continues in The Irish News. "The boys are a year older now. We've a very young panel and we had more success at U21 this year. We're going to give it a good rattle.

"The league was a mixed bag. We had some good pieces of play and some bad pieces, but you get that.

"But the league is over now. We're getting our head down and we're focussed on championship now. They're two totally different things.

"We're working hard so hopefully things will go well next Sunday."
